Bikini Waxing Shapes - Find Out What Styles Are Available Whatever Your Choice of Bikini

Whether you are bikini waxing for the first time or simply looking for a fresh look for your bikini line for the summer, knowing what bikini waxing shapes and styles are available is essential.

Bikini Waxing has become something of an art and whether you are thinking of getting rid of the lot or just having a bit of a tuck and trim around the sides, there will be a style for you and it is very likely to have a “pet” name. This brief article talks about the various bikini waxing shapes and fashions for girls (not necessarily because gentlemen don´t do bikini waxing but because there are various points to consider that aren´t included here).

So what are the basic styles?

The American Wax or Regular Bikini Wax
This involves the removal of hair that escapes past the panty/bikini line. If your bikini will expose it, it is taken away. Unless you say otherwise, any hair that you have at the top of your thighs or between your belly button and the top of your panties will be whisked away. This is the ideal bikini waxing shape for you if you are having your first wax or you are just looking to freshen everything up.

The Full Bikini Wax
This is more or less the same as the basic American Wax, just more... They will take away slightly more at the edges to give you more of a defined shape, for example a definate triangular shape. They may also trim any remaining hair so that it is shorter and less straggly. The Full Bikini Wax is an excellent option if you still want hair so you feel ´grown up´ but feel the need for a cleaner, more defined look.

The French Bikini Wax
With this style, you will end up with a vertical strip at the front which can be as thin or thick as you choose. This bikini waxing style is often also referred to as the Partial Brazilian or Landing Strip. If you are one of those girls that is fond of skimpy bikinis then this may be the ideal shape for you.

The Brazilian Bikini Wax
Probably the most heard of and talked about of the bikini waxing shapes and styles, the Brazilian Bikini Wax removes all the hair in the pelvic area both front and back (yes we are talking about your bum here!). A small area of hair is sometimes left on the pubis, by request, and can range from a tuft to a specific shape. This style is also sometimes called the Full Brazilian Wax, the Hollywood Wax or the Sphinx (ironically after the smooth-skinned, hairless Sphinx cat.) This bikini waxing style is apt for you if you are a fan of thong-like bikinis and lingerie. You end up feeling fresh and clean - albeit a bit tender the first couple of times. Don´t go for this style for your first wax, you may well regret it. Every scrape of clothing needs to be removed so it is not for the faint-hearted. As well as the modesty issue, there is the pain involved. The hair follicles are really strong the first few times you wax which makes it all a lot more painful. If you are new to waxing, it is better to go slowly and remove hair bit by bit. Once you have a few waxes under your belt (pardon the pun), you can afford to be a little more adventurous.

Personal Tips on Bikini Waxing at Home - Will it be Cream or Wax

Some genre of hair removal product for the bikini zone is definitely an absolute must in the world today. It is impossible for any of us women (or blokes for that matter) to even think about being caught in a public place in a bikini without having first had a bit of a trim. There is always the Gillette route of course although that could tend to produce a sight a whole lot worse than body hair - unsightly, uncomfortable shaving rashes or, worse still, scabby cuts.
If you are similar to many and generally be unable to afford to pay to have your bikini line done by a salon or lay your cash down for one of the recent IPL body hair removal machines, there are several depilatory creams and waxing kits now available for use in the comfort of your own home.
Depilatory Creams
Veet is probably the most well-known brand of depilatory cream. It comes in various strengths and means of use.  The one to use before you pull out your micro bikini is the Cream Bikini & Underarm Kit. It’s immediate and reasonably priced but, as with most creams, it is a bit on the icky side.
Nair - is yet another popular brand. Nair Bikini Cream is milder compared with it’s counterpart for legs and will leave you with soft skin while avoiding shaving rashes or nicks. It works in precisely the same way as the cream for legs.
Waxing Kits
If you don’t like creams you would possibly be far happier waxing.
Veet gets another mention here with their Ready-to-Use Wax Strips. They are truly convenient, easy-to-use and leave you with fabulous end results without the need to go to a costly salon. Should you get in a bit of a twist with the back bits, you can certainly always ask your bloke to help.
The best bit about creams and waxing when compared to shaving, is that you won’t end up with the troublesome, stubble when the hair grows back.
If you end up picking a cream or a wax strip, one thing to keep in mind is after treatment care. Don’t sunbathe for approximately 24 hours (longer if suggested by the product guidelines on the specific variety you purchase), stay out of jacuzzis  and be sure to use moisturizer.
If you end up with rashes of whatever kind there is absolutely no replacement for proper medical advice.
